Privacy policy

This policy explains what information the La Wen Wasel? website and app ("we", "us") use when you play, and why.

1. The short version

There are no accounts to create, no passwords and no payments. We don't keep anyone's email address. Almost everything stays on your own device. The website shows ads from Google, which uses cookies (see section 5).

2. Information stored on your device

Your player name, avatar, game history and wins, and sound settings are saved in your browser's storage on your device. We can't see them.

3. Information our server sees while you play

• While the game is open, it tells our server the name and avatar you chose, which screen you're on, and your device's time zone (for example "Asia/Beirut"). We use this only to see how many people are playing. It is kept in memory for about a minute and never saved.
• In online games, the server passes moves between the players in a room. Moves aren't stored, and a room disappears when its host leaves.
• Like any website, our host receives your IP address to deliver the pages. We don't keep IP addresses.

4. Signing in with Google (optional)

You can sign in with Google to get a ✅ next to your name in online games. When you sign in, Google sends our server a signed message with your name, email address and profile photo link, so we can confirm it's really you. We keep only your first name and Google's anonymous account number, in a cookie on your device for up to 30 days. Your email address and photo are thrown away straight away: they are never saved, shown to other players or used to contact you, and nothing about you is stored on our server. Sign out anytime in your profile, which deletes the cookie. Google's privacy policy applies to Google's part: policies.google.com/privacy.

5. Cookies

Our own only cookie is the sign-in cookie above, and only if you choose to sign in.

Ads: the website (play.lawenwasel.com) shows ads from Google AdSense, only between games and never during play. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technology to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites, and to measure them. Where the law requires it (for example in the EU and UK), you are asked for consent first. You can turn off personalised ads at adssettings.google.com, and learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. The Android app and the PC version show no ads.

6. Service providers

• Render hosts the website and the online game server.
• Google provides the optional sign-in and the ads on the website (Google AdSense).

7. Children

The game is suitable for all ages and doesn't ask for anyone's age, email or real name. Players under 13 should not use Google sign-in.

8. Keeping and deleting your data

We don't keep personal data, so there's nothing for us to hand over or delete. To remove everything from your device, clear this site's data in your browser (or uninstall the app) and sign out of Google sign-in. For any request, email lawenwasel@outlook.com.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. If we ever add accounts, this page will say so before they start.
